Revolution? is the top-selling Gerbera today among professional growers, and when you give these seeds a try, you will quickly see why. Unlike many others, Revolution? is easy to germinate, quick to grow, and effortless to transplant. This mix of yellow, gold, and orange flowers — including many bicolors — blooms at the same time and height, so you can design a formal planting or simply have a beautifully symmetrical display for the garden bed or patio pot!

Revolution? Yellow-Orange offers very brightly colored, non-fading blooms reaching 2? to 3 inches wide. They arise on strong stems, turned upwards, and last a long time both on the plant and in the vase. Gerberas are splendid for cutting, but you may be faced with a dilemma: Revolution? looks so good on the plant, it’s hard to make that snip!

These plants reach 12 to 16 inches high and just 6 inches wide. They have much less of the sprawling base foliage that older types have — another reason for their success. A single Revolution? is just the right size for a 4-inch or even a 6-inch pot. And a big planting is simply spectacular!

You can expect these flowers to begin opening before spring is out, a bit earlier than most other Gerberas. The stems are very sturdy, which is good because these blooms are packed with layers of long, slender petals around a handsome center. Perfect for all your bouquets!

Gerberas are heavy feeders, thriving in very well-enriched garden soils as well as containers. Make sure they get full sun, plenty of food, and consistent levels of water. They will repay you richly!

Sow the seeds uncovered (or dropped into the pre-drilled holes of the sponges in your Bio Dome) at about 72 degrees F, or direct-sow outdoors when the soil is thoroughly warm in spring. If starting indoors, the seeds should sprout within two weeks, and can be grown on at 72 to 75 degrees F with plenty of light and fairly high humidity. (Again, in the Bio Dome, leave the dome on, vents open, until the seedlings outgrow their space or become too crowded in the tray.)

Transplant when the seedlings have at least two sets of true leaves and the soil is completely warm in spring. Or move them into their container with a good potting mix! From sowing to blooming, Revolution? should take between 16 and 22 weeks. So easy and so rewarding over a long midsummer into fall season! Hardy in zones 8-11, grown as an annual everywhere else.
